Making still needs a source note and a consent thought
Creative work in this track is allowed. Unlabeled making is not. Students who generate an image, a clip, or a piece of music still write: what was prompted, what the generator could not have known, whose likeness or style was at risk, and what the student is willing to stand behind if a classmate asks “did you make that?”
The artifact is a making log of four lines, kept beside the file: materials used (including the generator), source or inspiration named, consent thinking (whose face, whose homework, whose recording), and a limit (“this image is a sketch, not a photograph of a real event”). HNK does not claim to clear copyright. The log is a teaching habit so the student notices the risk before publishing.
- Do not generate a classmate’s face as a joke and call it a project.
- Do not submit a generated poster as a drawing without the log.
- If the student cannot say what the generator did not know, the piece is not finished.
