A card for turning generated text into a checkable claim
This guide is a worksheet, not a catalogue of course names. HNK’s one-line job is to turn AI output into an inspectable human explanation. A family or teacher can use the card below on any generated paragraph: split it into a claim, a source, an unknown, and a remaining human responsibility. The completed card is the learning artifact. A fluent paste is not.
Owner confirmation on 2026-10-04 covers that the practice operates and that info@hnk.org exists. It does not cover fees, start dates, or signed school contracts. Those stay off this page.
Teaching example (generated sentence). “Solar panels always pay for themselves in two years.”
Claim: Solar panels recover their purchase cost within two years.
Source: none named in the generated sentence.
Unknown: location, purchase price, electricity rate, subsidies, panel lifetime, maintenance.
Human responsibility: do not repeat the sentence as a fact until a place and a source exist. A student who can say that out loud, with the interface closed, has done the HNK move.
How to use the card in a session
Pick one generated paragraph. Do not pick a whole chat. Circle every number, every “always”, and every unnamed “study”. Then write the four boxes. If the source box is empty, the explanation is unfinished. If the unknown box is empty, the student is still performing certainty.
- One generated paragraph per card. Extra paragraphs get extra cards.
- The student speaks the four boxes with the interface closed.
- A classmate marks only whether a second reader could check the source box.
- Revision is rewriting the claim until it matches the source, not decorating the vocabulary.
